  • ABSTRACT This study aimed to find out the results of the pedagogical competencies of teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Metro City and SMP Negeri 1 Way Jepara. The population in this study were PPKn teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Metro City and SMP Negeri 1 Way Jepara which in total numbered 5 people. The sample in the study were two PPKn teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Kota Metro and two PPKn teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Way Jepara obtained using purposive sampling technique with consideration of PPKn teachers who were civil servants (PNS). Data collectting techniques used documentation, interviews, and observation. Analysis of qualitative data testing were through a test of credibility, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it could be seen that the pedagogical competencies of PPKn teachers in Metro City were good, this is proven because all indicators have been seen and the pedagogical competencies of PPKn teachers at Way Jepara Junior High School 1 werr quite good because there two indicators that have been seen, namely insight and fondation of education and understanding of students. Then from the results that have been obtained, the percentage comparison for pedagogical competencies of PPKn SMP Negeri 1 Metro City teachers is 81.52% and PPKn teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Way Jepara are 61.95%.
