  • Kemplang grill is a source of carbon monoxide gas which is still actively roasting kemplang. Roasting activities are carried out everyday and use wood as ingredient for baking. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is formed during the burning of wood by worker activities, when burning wood will undergo a process of devolatilization, namely the volatile content will come out in the form of Carbon Monoxide.exposure to carbon monoxide at high doses can affect the brain, cause nausea and death. The study aims to analyze environmental health risks of carbon monoxide gas exsposure to kemplang grilling workers in Lubuk Sakti Villaage. This study use an quantitative research using the method of Environmental Health Risk Analysis (ARKL) total respondents totaled 10 people. The results of the study for risk agent level showed that the highest CO levels were 51,14 mg/m3. For each risk agent in the research location , there are respondents whose RQ>1 is 2,722 and 1,041. Whereas the RQ CO value for each different agent risk indicates that the RQ is above 1. Based on the result of the study showed that CO around the kemplang grilling area in the village of Lubuk Sakti has a risk of public health problem because there is still an RQ value >1. Fir this reason, you should replace kemplang’s fuel from charcoal into corm shell or wood pellet.
