  • In order to produce a high quality product time, various kind of steel cutting process have been done with non-conventional technology. One of non-conventional technology which often used in production process is Electric Discharger Machine (EDM) specifically Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM). WEDM is machine using erosion process as the effect of electric sparks periodically from positive pole and negative pole, or machinery process by using erosion process which is produced from a potential different through a wire. This process has been effectively used in machine with a material that is hard and strong, stands with high temperature and has a smooth surface with high precision. The research aims to see the surface roughness level of the material Ti-6Al-4V (titanium alloys). Surface that comes in 3 parameter variations by using WEDM VZ500L machine. In the case, the parameter variation used was wire feed, Ton and Toff, and then it was processed by using DOE application in order to get the range from each parameter. After collecting tha data from the test, analysis was conducted by using RSM method, where the method can be used to determine the relationship between process input variable and output variable (bond variable and response process). From the result of this reseach that the effect of the surface roughness level Ti-6Al-4V is Ton. It can be proven by Ton and WF the smoother the surface roughness will be. Even though WF factor also gives positive effect but it is considered less significant. Meanwhile, Toff gives negative effect.
