HUBUNGAN BAYI BERAT LAHIR RENDAH (BBLR) DENGAN KEMATIAN NEONATAL DI INDONESIA (ANALISIS DATA SEKUNDER INDONESIA FAMILY LIFE SURVEY 2014)

- Neonatal death is death that occurs during the first twenty-eight days of life after the baby is born. Neonatal deaths in the two periods of the Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (2007 IDHS and 2012 IDHS) are still constant at 19 deaths per 1000 live births but in 2017 the neonatal mortality rate has fallen to 15 per 1000 live births. Low birth weight babies (LBW) is one of the biggest contributors to infant morbidity and mortality including neonatal mortality. This study uses a cross sectional design and uses secondary data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). Inclusion criteria are single-born babies in the last 5 years (2009- 2014) and the last child taken. This study uses complex samples analysis which consists of three stages: univariate, bivariate with chi-square test and multivariate using multiple logistic regression risk factor models. The results of multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between LBW and neonatal mortality which was controlled by the variable gestational age (P = 0,000; PR 9,985; 95% CI 4,559-21,871). It was concluded that there was a relationship between LBW and neonatal mortality controlled by variable gestational age. It is recommended to provide counseling to pregnant women regarding the risk of LBW and the impact caused by LBW and intensive counseling to fertile age couples (PUS) must be encouraged by health workers so that the process of pregnancy and childbirth can be planned so that risk factors for pregnant women can be prevented.
