MODIFIKASI ALAT PEMISAH TATAL SADAP DARI GUMPALAN LATEKS KERING TIPE DOUBLE ROLLER

- The objective of this research is to modified the double roller shaving tapping separator of dried latex blobs and do performance test the modified tool. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Machine and Workshop, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya on June 2018 until Mei 2019. The basic principle of this tool is to rotate the 4 rollers which cause the shaving tapping to be drawn inwards and then being grinded. The shaving tapping will be broken while the dried latex does not because its elastic properties, so it will be separated from clumps of dried latex. The shaving tapping and the clumps of latex will fall to the container with sieve under the roller. Water and small-sized shaving tapping will pass through the sieve while the latex will be at the container. The parameters measured are the theoretical work capacity of the tool, the effective work capacity of the tool, the work efficiency of the equipment, the dirt content of material, and the volatile content of the material. Theoritical work capacity of shaving tapping separator of dried latex blobs is 107.76 kg/h, the effective work capacity is 72 kg/h, and the work efficiency is 66.81 %. Shaving tapping dirt content before separated was 15.62 %, while after shaving tapping being separated is 7.81%. The volatile matter before separated was 6.76%, while after being separated is 11.58%.
