- Background:Dental trauma is an injury to the teeth or hard and soft tissue found in the oral cavity.Prevalence of dental trauma injuries was around 95% in children and 5% in adults. Dental trauma can caused temporary or permanent tooth decay, including luxtation, tooth fracture, loose teeth (avulsion).One of caused avulsion of permanent tooth was playing, exercising, cycling and accidents. One way to increasied knowledge of permanent dental avulsion emergencies was by education. The right method of permanent dental avulsion emergency education used video animation was an interesting and appropriate method for children. purpose:The purpose of this study was to understand the overview of the effectiveness of dental health education using animated video in increasing knowldege of little doctor SD IBA Palembang of emergency permanent tooth avulsion. Method: The type of this study was a quasy experiment and used total sampling technique. The study was conducted to the 40 little doctor of SD IBA Palembang. Knowledge of emergency permanent tooth avulsion measured before and after education by questioner. Analysis statistic used in this study was Wilcoxon. Results:The mean of knowledge before and after education with animated video had increased 1,67 . Conclusion:there is a significant influence between the level of knowledge of small doctors until compassion in palembang after being given an animated video.
