  • The purpose of this research were to 1) analyze the change of income on the farmers and the sharecropers during the decline and after increasing the price rubber in Tanah Abang Selatan Village, Pali Regency. 2) analyze the impact of the rubber price changes on social condition and household economic condition on the farmers owner and the sharecropers in Tanah Abang Selatan Village, Pali Regency. 3) Arrange an adaptation strategy of the farmers and the sharecropers when the rubber price fluctuation occured in Tanah Abang Selatan Village, Pali Regency. This study was conducted in Tanah Abang Selatan village, Pali Regency. The determination of research location was done intentionally by survey method. Data retrieval were collected from april to may 2017. The sampling method used in the research was a disproportional stratified random sampling. The data used in this research were primary and secondary data. The average revenue of the farmers in 2016 is higher at Rp 25,350,104.69 per hectare per year, and income earned in 2015 is Rp. 17,579,926.64 per hectare per year with the difference amount Rp 7.770.178,06 per hectare per year. While the sharecroper's income earned in 2016 is higher at Rp 15,665,814.61 per hectare per year and in 2015 is Rp 11,190,253,81 per hectare per year with the difference amount to Rp 4.475.560,80 per hectare per year which means there was a decline income of the sharecropers. Social and economic condition of the farmers and the sharecropers changed. The Change of social condition marked by change of farmer's behavior, lifestyle and way of thinking . While changes in economic conditions were marked by the decline of labor allocation, household consumption, and only ownership of farmers which did not decreased. Farmer's strategy to deal with fluctuations in rubber prices by using external internal matrix (ie), for the farmers that were in region 4 (stability), the strategy applied without changing direction of set strategy. While the strategy for the sharecropers that were in area 2 (growth strategy), the growth of strategy itself or diversification eforts, region 2 was concentration through horizontal integration.
