  • The title of the study is Effectivity of National Narcotics Agency of South Sumatra Province in carrying out the Prevention, Eradicating Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Drugs Program in Students and College Students. The background of this study is the still high level of drug users among students and college students in South Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to explain the effectiveness of the National Narcotics Agency of South Sumatra Province in carrying out program to prevent and eradicate drug abuse and trafficking in students in South Sumatra. The method that used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. Data collecting techniques that used in this study are using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses Richard M. Steers's theory which explains the effectiveness can be seen through the Perspective System owned by the organization in the form of input, throughput, and output. The inputs in this study are the rules of program, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, the budgets, and targeting and indicators of the success. Throughput can be seen through procedures for implementing programs, implementing programs, and monitoring programs. The expected output is the success of providing information about the dangers of drugs, increasing participation of schools and universities, increasing the deterrence of students and college students, and decreasing the number of student drug users. Based on the system perspective by Richard M. Steers, the Effectiveness of National Narcotics Agency of South Sumatra Province in carrying out the Prevention, Eradicating Abuse, and Illicit Trafficing of Drugs Programs in Students and College Students has been effective because it has achieved output.
