However, the high use of pesticides will increase the level of exposure to pesticides that enter the body. The more exposure of pesticides that entering body, the greater the likelihood of exposure to toxins in the body that can cause general complaints such as itching, skin irritation, reddened skin, excessive fatigue, and specific complaints such as tremors, and blurred vision. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relation between farmer characteristics and environmental factors with subjective health complaints. This research was quantitative analytic with Cross Sectional approach. The sample was 77 farmers who spraying pesticides using the Sample Random Sampling technique. Data analysis performed was univariate and bivariate with Chi-Square test. The results of this study indicate that there is a relation between the use of PPE (P = 0.022) and the length of exposure (P = 0.029) with subjective health complaints. Some unrelated variables such as age, nutritional status, education level, years of service, spraying, air temperature and humidity. The conclution of this research is the use of PPE is a risk factor for subjective health complaints and the length of exposure is a proactive factor. So it is recommended to use a complete PPE such as gloves, masks, long sleeves, long sleeves, boots and reduce the length of exposure to pesticides.
