  • This study is titled "Middle Karang Agung Pre-Sriwijaya Site in Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, 1987-2018 (Contribution of Learning Materials to Cultural History Courses)". This research was conducted on the writer's desire to find out the history of archaeological discoveries, studies by experts, and the distribution of the Pre-Srivijaya Site in the Central Karang Agung Region. The methodology used in this study is the historical research methodology with the process of collecting data through documentation, interviews, observation and literature study. While the approaches used are historical, archaeological, epigraphy approaches, geographical approaches, ceramic science approaches paleographic approaches, sociological approaches, and economic approaches. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the Pre-Srivijaya Site in the Middle Great Karang Region was an important site before the existence of the Srivijaya Kingdom these sites spread in the former old rivers in the watersheds of the Lalan River and Sembilang River. The rivers at that time were shipping and trade routes that connected the Pre-Srivijaya Site with the outside world. The Pre-Srivijaya Site of the Great Karang Karang itself is estimated to originate from the 6th century AD and is a settlement site, this can be proven by the discovery of wooden house poles, based on the results of excavations in the Karang Agung Tengah area, namely the discovery of wooden house poles carbon test C14 aged 1624-1629 Bp is roughly the same as in 373-376 AD or 4th century AD Keywords: Site, Pre-Srivijaya, Middle Karang Agung, Transmigration
