  • Background :. Multimorbidity is a condition which there are two or more chronic diseases suffered in one individual. During the period 2004-2011, the prevalence of multimorbidity increased by 3.5%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of multimorbidity was found at 35.7%. This study aims to determine the relationship of physical activity with multimorbidity. Method : This research is a quantitative study with cross sectional study design. Sampling using multistage random sampling. The sample in this study was 7,785 respondents who fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis of research data using complex samples analysis consisting of three stages: univariate, bivariate and multivariate. Result : The results showed that multimorbidity was found in 1,409 respondents (18.1%). Statistical test results show a relationship between physical activity and the prevalence of multimorbidity after being controlled by residence, smoking status, and work status. Respondents who did light physical activity increased their risk 1.3 times to experience multimorbidity events (PR = 1.31 95% CI 1.143-1.510) and respondents who did heavy physical activities reduced their risk 0.54 times to experience multimorbidity compared with respondents who doing moderate physical activity (PR = 0.54 95% CI 0.407-0.725). Conclusion : Physical activity affects the prevalence of multimorbidity after being controlled by variables of residence, work status, and smoking status. Suggestions for the public to be more aware of the importance of health by making efforts to prevent multimorbidity by checking up to health services once a year, routinely doing moderate to heavy physical activity (for the elderly adjusted for physical abilities), and reducing pollution exposure to motorbike vehicles.
