PENGARUH MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMAHAMI TEKS DRAMA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 1 PALEMBANG

- This study aims to determine the effect of audio visual learning media on the ability to understand drama texts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Palembang. This research uses a pseudo-experimental method. The sample of this study amounted to 64 students consisting of two classes namely class VIII 3 totaling 32 people as experimental class students, who received treatment using audio visual media and class VIII 4 totaling 32 students as a control class who received treatment using media used by teachers in the form of power point Data collection techniques using test and data processing techniques using test calculations. T with SPSS 16. The results of the study showed that there were differences in test results between the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class received an average initial test score of 52.87 and the initial test control class received an average of 49.53. Furthermore, the average value of the final test of the experimental class is 80.00 and the control class is 72.19. From the results of the t-test calculation proves that tcount> t table = 7.812> 1.999 with df = 62 at a 95% success rate (a = 0.025). This shows that the ability to understand drama texts has a significant influence. Therefore, audio-visual media has an influence on the ability to understand the drama texts of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Palembang.
