  • This research in order to know the analgetic effect of extract of kebiul seeds (Caesalpinia Bondul (L.)Roxb) in white wistar male rats.Kebiul seeds (Caesalpinia Bondul (L.)contain of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and triterpenoids. Flavonoids are known that can be used as antioxidants, antibacterial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory. This research used Sigmund method (writhing method) induced by acetic acid 1% intraperitoneally. White wistar male rats were divided into eleven groups with 2 control group (negative control, Na CMC and positive control, aspirin) and nine treatment groups consist of three groups of extract of ethanol, three groups of extract of ethyl acetate, and three groups of extract of n-hexane with each of doses 100, 200, and 400 mg/kgBW. The rats were given extract orally, for the next 30 minutes induced by 0,2 ml of acetic acid 1% after 10 minutes of observation and calculated the number of writhing every five minutes in an hour. The result showed rats‟ pain-protection percentage of extract of ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane was 94,53, 84,27, dan 72,02%. The result statictical analysis with Kruskal-Wallis dan Mann-Whitney test showed mainly of treatment groups had significant difference (p <0.05)compared to the positive control. The effective dose (ED50) was calculated based on rat‟s protection percentage, with a result of 48,05 mg/kgBW.The result showed extract ethanol has analgesic activity stronger than extract of ethyl acetate and n-hexane
