  • Aedes aegypti is one of vector that should be watched and can cause Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. Larvitrap modifications by using attractants are still rarely carried out in Indonesia. It was necessary to study which of the most effective attractan. One of the attractants used was cumin seeds. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of larvitrap effectiveness using cumin seed attractants to determine the presence of Aedes aegypti larvae / larvae in Rajabasa Indah / Raya village This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized posttest control group design. The research subjects were larvae / larvae of Aedes aegypti. Larvitrap is made from black and white plastic buckets, and covered with gauze. Larvitrap in the contents of the cumin seed attractant concentration of 5% in the larvitrap type. The research location is Rajabasa Raya Village. The research sample of 18 houses was determined using simple random sampling. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis methods The results showed that using a 5% concentration of trapped Aedes was 28.44 grains during the study. Based on the results of the study showed that the potential use of larvitrap is as many as 118 larvae trapped. With a distribution of 73 larvae in the house and 45 larvae outside the house. Aedes larvae trapped in black bucket larvitrap types are 92 larvae, 26 larvae in white buckets, there are differences between black and white larvitrap and bucket types (p value <0.001). The conclusion of this study is that larvitrap uses cumin seed attractants to determine the presence of Aedes aeggypti larvae, and from all study variables influencing the number of Aedes aeggypti larvae. It is recommended to the public to be able to use the plastic bucket larvitrap type and the cumin concentration of 5% as an vector control tool that is easy, inexpensive and productive, and does not cause resistance.
