ANALISIS STOK KARBON PADA KAWASAN MANGROVE TAMAN NASIONAL BERBAK-SEMBILANG WILAYAH SUMATERA SELATAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ALOMETRIK DAN LEAF AREA INDEX (LAI)
Daftar Isi:
- The mangrove ecosystem in Berbak-Sembilang National Park area of South Sumatera is the largest ecosystem compared to other ecosystems. Mangroves absorb carbon dioxide gas through photosynthesis that will be stored in biomass in the form of carbon stock. The purpose of this research was to know the condition of tree level mangrove vegetation, estimate the amount of above ground carbon stock and predict the ability of carbon absorption through photosynthesis in the mangrove area of Berbak Sembilang National Park of Region South Sumatera. This study was conducted in July-August 2017. Data of mangrove vegetation was obtained by quadrat transect method with plot area 30m x 30m. Estimation of carbon stock at tree level used allometric method. Estimation of carbon absorption through photosynthesis was by using Leaf Area Index (LAI) method. True mangrove vegetation found in three sampling areas in Berbak-Sembilang National Park South Sumatera region were A. alba, A. lanata, A. marina, B. cylindrica, B. gymnorrhiza, B. parviflora, B. sexangula, C. tagal, E. agallocha, R. apiculata, R. mucronata, R. stylosa, S. alba, and X. granatum. A. marina was mangrove species with the highest density. Average above ground carbon stock on the Berbak Sembilang National Park South Sumatera region was 130.48 ton-C/ha, with total value was 1,565.78 ton-C/ha. R.apiculata was the mangrove community that storage carbon in above ground biomass with a highest value (483,99 ton-C/ha). The average amount of carbon absorbed of mangrove vegetation through photosynthesis was 204,91 kg/ha/day. A. marina was the highest community that absorbed carbon through photosynthesis (553.43kg C/ha/day). Induvidual highest average capability of carbon storage at the above ground was R. stylosa (5.81 ton-C/ha). While the highest average carbon absorb through photosyntesis individually was B. cylindrica species (10.95kg-C/ha/day).
