PREPARASI KATALIS BENTONIT YANG TERPILAR KOBALT FOSFAT UNTUK KONVERSI ETANOL MENJADI DIETIL ETER
Daftar Isi:
- Co/P pillared bentonite was successfully prepared by varying amount of pillaring agents. The catalyst was applied for the conversion of ethanol to diethyl ether. Co/P pillared bentonite was made with variation of Co/P ratio to bentonite 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mEq / g then characterized by XRD, SEM-EDS, FTIR, GSA and acidity analysis using gravimetric method. The XRD results show that the Co/P pillared bentonite has broad and non-sharp peaks indicating that the pillared Co/P pillar has high amorphous properties. The morphology of Co/P pillared bentonite confirmed pores formation as shown in SEM images and an increase in P and Co elements based on EDS data. The peaks at the wavenumbers 3180 cm-1 and 1064 cm-1 which are characteristic for the -HPO4 group and the P=O streching vibrations of PO43- based on FTIR spectra for the Co/P pillared bentonite catalyst. The results of the analysis with GSA showed that an increase in surface area after the pilarization process became 90.1975 m2/g, the pore diameter became 76.0554 Å and the pore volume became 0.1715 cm3/g. The acidity of the catalyst showed an increase in the total acidity value of 2.3971 mmol/g for Na-Bentonite to 2.3971 mmol/g, 3.5487 mmol/g, 4.8999 mmol/g, 4.3334 mmol/g, 5.3220 mmol/g and 6.0290 mmol/g for each variation of catalysts 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mEq/g Co/P pillared bentonite. The results of ethanol dehydration using prepared catalysts showed that the catalyst 10 mEq/g Co/P pillared bentonite had the best catalytic activity based on GC-MS percent area for diethyl ether and residual ethanol was 64.89% and 30.75%
