  • Synthesis of Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) nano caffeine has been carried out using the cooling heating method involving caffeine as a template, Methacylid Acid (MAA) as a functional monomer, Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) as a reaction initiator, Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylac (EDMA) as a crosslinker and chloroform as a solvent. Caffeine is first modified on a nanoparticle scale using a High Energy Milling (HEM) type of shaker mill-miller type 1 with variations in the milling time of 10, 15, and 20 minutes. The polymerization and extraction process is then carried out to obtain a hollow polymer known as Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP). Milling time affects the particle size. The characteristics of the polymers and MIP produced were obtained from characterization using XRD, FTIR, and SEM. From the XRD data shows that the milling time of 10, 15, and 20 minutes produced particle sizes of 19,029 nm, 18,498 nm and 18,176 nm. FTIR results showed that the lowest decrease in caffeine concentration occurred at 10 minutes MIP, whereas at 15 and 20 minutes MIP the difference in the decrease in concentration produced was not too significant. Based on SEM results, the number of cavities at pada100 nm size formed at MIP 10, 15, and 20 minutes is 233, 229, and 447 cavities.
