PENGARUH MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL (VIDEO ANIMASI) TERHADAP SIKAP TERKAIT IKLAN ROKOK PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH PALEMBANG TAHUN 2019

- College student are in their final stage of adolescence, and someone who is still not really able to be critical in addressing cigarettes, they pay less attention to the health consequences of smoking. So it is necessary to do health education in order to justify the brand attitude related to smoking. This study aims to determine the effect of audiovisual media on attitudes related to cigarette advertising to students. This research was conducted using a Quasi Experimental study with Pretest-Posttest. The research subjects were students of the Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, Department of Biology 2018 as an experimental group totaling 25 people and Agronomy 2017 as a control group as well as 25 people. Analysis of the study used dependent T test and independent T test. The results showed there is differences in attitude before and after the audiovisual media was given in relation to cigarette advertising in the experimental group (p = 0.010), in the lecture method there is also differences in attitude in relation to cigarette advertising in the control group (p = 0.760). Audiovisual media and lectures can both influence, but based on statistic analysis audiovisual media is more effective in increasing attitudinal changes related to cigarette advertising. This research has a confounding factor that is the variable of mother's education, living with family, and exposure to cigarette advertisements. It is expected that the campus will reinforce and socialize regulations related to no smoking area and the researchers then pre-test the media and macthing the characteristics.
