- This study examines social capital in the business of buy and selling the rubber latex in Lebung Gajah Village, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering ilir Regency. The purpose of this study was to analyze social capital in the business of buying and selling rubber latex in the village of Lebung Gajah. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Observation, interviews and documentation are data collection techniques used by researchers. This study uses analytical concept from Robert Putnam's about social capital theory. The results of this study indicate that social capital in the business of buying and selling rubber latex in the village of Lebung Gajah there is a system of purchasing rubber latex by granting loans from middlemen to farmers, giving bonuses to farmers who sell rubber sap with good quality, employees who can be invited to work together and honestly, the factory gives a special price to its customers. The social network helps middlemen in running their business, through farmers who subscribe to middlemen getting rubber sap and invites other farmers to sell rubber latex to the middlemen, employees help middlemen pursue their businesses, the factory as a buyer of rubber latex from middlemen can negotiate prices. Social norms of farmers selling rubber sap with good quality, there is an agreement between the prices of fellow middlemen in buying rubber sap, there is an agreement with middlemen with the factory in maintaining the quality of rubber latex during a transaction, while the written norm is the making of a business permit.
