  • This research is to see how the communication strategies of local government and community development in development planning deliberations in Pasar II North Prabumulih, Prabumulih City, South Sumatra. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, as an effort to explore and clarify something about a phenomenon or social reality by describing a number of variables related to the problem and unit under study. Interviews were conducted with informants who were perpetrators as well as people who knew, understood and had an active role in conducting village development planning meetings. The results of this study are development communication between the government and the community in development planning meetings (musrenbang) conducted using traditional media (oral) and modern media (broadcast), learning design through direct discussion of citizen interaction, participatory involving citizens and communities in the community and marketing good implementation of the musrenbang and the results of the musrenbang to parties in various government sectors, the business world / business community. The factors that become obstacles in communication between local government and the community are the dominance of power in influencing government policy, socio-cultural issues in the form of differences in social norms and education levels of development actors, as well as sectoral egos of development actors ranging from government institutions, the private sector to social social entities.
