  • The Research has been carried out to obtain the energy literacy profile of students in the faculty of physics physics education study program and the education science of Sriwijaya University. One reason for the importance of energy literacy was the threat of the energy crisis faced by world countries now. Therefore, physics education students were expected to be individuals who have energy literacy. The method used in this research was quantitative descriptive method. The sample in this study were 115 students. To measure the level of energy literacy capabilities of physics education students was using the energy literacy assessment instrument (IALE) were 33 essay. IALE included three aspects, were cognitive aspects, attitude aspects and behavioral tendencies aspects. In this study, based on energy literacy competency description showed that the average score obtained by indralaya class studentswere 42.41 or equivalent 476 Logit was at level 2 and Palembang class was 38.09 or equivalent 451 Logit was at level 2. While literacy competency descriptions energy student in physics education program at Sriwijaya University was 40.25 or equivalent to 464 logit was at level 2. It meant that is, physics education students had four competencies in the aspect of self system, were importance, self efficacy, emotional response and energy saving motivation. In the metacognitive aspect, physics education students was able to determine goals to save energy while in the cognitive aspects were still very low in working on IALE.
