UJI AKTIVITAS LARVASIDA EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN GELAM PUTIH Melaleuca leucadendra (L.) L. TERHADAP LARVA NYAMUK Aedes aegypti

- Dengue fever is one of major health problems in Indonesia. One of the way to eradicate this disease is by controlling the vector. This study aims to produce natural larvacidal that have minimal side effect. Extraction of white gelam (Melaleuca leucadendra (L.) L.) using maceration method. The result of characterzation extract show that rendemen was 17.03% (b/v), blackish brown, typical smell of eucalyptus, sticky, thick, and bit heavy, compound contents dissolved in water was 16.66%, and compound contents dissolved in ethanol was 25.66%. Result of standarization non specific parameters show water content is 1.05%, shrinkage drying is 1.93%, total ash content is 3.16%, and ash content insoluble in acid is 0.23%. Research use 7 group, all groups were tested using 25 larvaes Aedes aegypti instar 1st dan 3rd with concentration 1250, 1000, 750, 500, 250 ppm, control positive (Abate® 1%), control negative (aquadest). The regression of probit analysis result showed that LC50 of instar I is 263.02 mg/L, LC99 is 1071.51 mg/L, while LC50 of instar III is 389.04 mg/L, LC99 is 1949.84 mg/L. Larva instar I LT50 is 15.55 hour, LT99 is 30.32 hour, while larva instar III with LT50 is 14.01 hour, LT99 is 24.09 hour. The result of analysis statistik extract ethanol gelam putih leaves have potency larvacidal as Abate® on concentration 1250 and 1000 ppm.
