- The title of this study is "The phenomenon of Motorcycle Riders in the “X” and “Y” Junior High Schools in Palembang". The purpose of this study is to determine the motives, meanings, and awareness of motorcycle riders in that Junior High School. Study Analysis use the phenomenological theory from Alfred Schut. The method is qualitative study with data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants are selected purposively by taking 10 informants, there are consisting of eight from students and two from school administrators of the “X” and “Y” Junior High Schools in Palembang. The results of this study give discuss of the motives, awareness, and meaning of motorcycle riders. The motive for is to facilitate personal matters and as a means of mobilization. Motive of causes are past experiences and tomake easier of parent task. There are three consciousness. The subjective awareness of a motorcycle rider is a motorcycle rider's experience. The objective awareness of them are aware that the school has made it as a violation in the rules oforder if they are not allowed to bring motorcycle. Intersubjective awareness occurs between motorcycle riders and the school administrators as well as motorcycle riders with peers. The meaning of underage motorbike riders is as a lifestyle, rider, and the cultural significance of the school. Keywords: Motorcycle Riders, Minors, Phenomenology
