  • This study aims to describe the social identity of the Yamaha R15 motorcycle community in the city of Palembang. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research are the community manager, community members and the community around the community. Key informants are managers and members of the community consisting of the chairperson, division staff chiefs, community founders and community members. Data collection is done by using interviews, observation and documentation. Researchers are the main instrument in research assisted by interview, observation, and documentation guidelines. Triangulation used to test the validity of the data is the triangulation of sources and methods. The results showed that: The process of forming social identity that starts from the stage of social categorization, social identification, and social comparison. Identity as a motor community that has loyalty, solidarity, and upholds the values of brotherhood displays identity as a motor community that emphasizes a strong sense of family ties. The identity display is captured through several group activities and members' perceptions of the main function of community.
