EFEKTIVITAS SARI BELIMBING WULUH (Avverhoa bilimbi) UNTUK MEMPROTEKSI IKAN LELE DARI PENYAKIT MOTILE AEROMONAS SEPTICEMIA (MAS)
Daftar Isi:
- Bilimbi is a known-well plant which has potential used to control Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) disease that common occurs on catfish rearing. It has antioxidant properties such as flavonoid, phenol and others which play or fish immunity. Besides, it easy to plan and get in Indonesia. This research aims to determine period protection from bilimbi-fed to strengthen fish immunity in order protect fish from pathogen, Aeromonas hydrophila. The bilimbi are expected as an alternative way to protect fish from bacterial infection, therefor fish farmer can avoid economic losses due to fish diseases. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) were used in this research with 6 treatments (T), including 0 day (T0), 7 days (T1), 14 days (T2), 21 days (T3), 28 days (T4) and 35 days (T5). This study was conducted at Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan Budidaya Perairan dan Laboratorium Dasar Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University in November-December 2018. The parameters was observed and analyzed including hematocrit level, erythrocytes, prevalance, growth rate and survival rate of catfish. The result revealed that 28 days (T4) can protect catfish (Clarias sp.) from Aeromonas hydrophila infection which were injected by 106 CFU.mL-1. The lowest prevalence value were about 17.78% and during culture the survival rate reached 100%. The lowest survival rate post infection were 0% (T1) which bilimbi-fed period for 7 days and the highest were 100% (T4 and T5). Water quality under experiment were 27-28.90C for temperature, pH 5.3-7.7, DO 5.00-7.80 mg/L-1 and ammonia 0.07-0.25 mg/L-1. In conclusion, bilimbi-fed 300 mL.kg-1 for 28 days is the best period to protect fish from Aeromonas hydrophila infection.
