KARAKTERISTIK TEGANGAN PELUAHAN ISOLASI LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LDPE) YANG DIBERI KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN
Daftar Isi:
- The study to obtain discharge voltage characteristics of polymeric insulation materials of low density polyethylene (LDPE) which were treated as roughness on one side of the surface carried out. Tests carried out on samples in the form of LDPE sheets with a thickness of 45 μm were arranged in double layer with three variations of arrangement. Each sample is made in sizes of 50 x 50 mm. Surface roughness treatment was carried out to obtain LDPE isolation aging conditions using sand paper with variations in the roughness size of 60; 100; 220; 320; 400; and 500 Grit. Testing the strength of the sample to resist voltage stress carried out using the CIGRE Method-II electrode system under high voltage alternating current. The test results show that the insulation surface which undergoes an artificial aging process in the form of surface roughness has decreased its ability to resist the voltage stress. The results of the study showed that the voltage drop correlates with the level of surface roughness given. The decrease is possible because roughness causes a pointed bulge like the tip of a needle (needle tip). This can result in the formation of field density which triggers the occurrence of initial discharge which will end up being a complete breakdown. In this study, the voltage reduction in layered sample arrangement with PKSL variation is equal to 1.467 kV or about 18.9% compared to the sample without being given roughness treatment on the surface.
