  • With more and more use of the aerospace fleet and an increase in aviation manufacturing. Thin-walled will be increasingly used to reduce the burden of products and improve performance. However, the milling process on the Thin-Walled Ti6-Al-4V component has a great influence on the work performance of the component. Titanium and Alloy are important parts for materials from aerospace engineering because of the very good combination of strength and hardness. However, this material is very difficult to form due to its hardness, low thermal conductivity and high chemical reaction that occurs with cutting tools. So that during the milling process easily the deflection of the cutting tools and workpiece. Therefore, predicting and minimizing defects in production results is very important. Cutting and deflection forces are known as one of the causes of product defects. Thus, cutting and defection models can be developed to improve accuracy in predicting product defects. In order to reduce the cost, time and age of cutting tools, Abaqus software is used to simulate the machining process. therefore the comparison of deflections caused by helix angle differences during the milling thin walled process will be simulated using Abaqus software.
