This study aims to analyze the contribution and effectiveness of local revenue, namely the local tax sector on Regional Original Revenue (ROR) of the City of Palembang, South Sumatera Province. This research uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The data used in this research is secondary data. Secondary data in the form of reports related to the target and realization of the Palembang regional tax revenue in South Sumatera Province. The results showed that the contribution of local taxes to the Regional Original Revenue (ROR) of the City of Palembang, South Sumatera Province is in the very good category because it exceeds the figure above 50%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of local tax on Regional Original Revenue (ROR) of Palembang City in South Sumatra Province is 104,39% and categorized as very effective criteira because it is in the range of more than 100%.
