- This thesis aims to determine the Representation of Polygamy in the Indonesian film "Athirah". This study uses qualitative research methods using descriptive methods. Based on the results of the analysis of researchers that have been obtained, it can be concluded that the results found with the theory of Semiotics of Roland Barthes to find out the meaning and sign using the semiotic model as follows, Denotation, Connotation, and Myth. Polygamy depicted in the film Athirah depicts the character of women who struggle to apply sincerity and patience in undergoing polygamy marriages in their lives, as if women did not have an effort to reject polygamy by men. This arises from a cultural stereotypical view of society, which ultimately places women in the family to be able to be a good mothers to their children, and the perception of polygamous women can form to be an independent person.
