  • The method used in this research survey method. Survey conducted to the freshwater swamp in Pulau Negara Village (without mulch) in Pemulutan Barat District, Ogan Ilir Regency, Tanjung Seteko Village (Plastic Mulch) North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir District, and Agrotech Training Center (Organic Mulch) North Indralaya District, Regency Ogan Ilir. Retrieval of canopy arthropods was carried out using DVAC and soil arthropod retrieval using flading squere. Sampling was conducted at 06.00-08.00 WIB on different days for each location. Herbivore arthropods in the canopy of organic mulch have 3 species and 2 families. The order consists from ordoHomoptera. Predators have 2 species and 1 family. Predatory arthropods consist of the order Coleoptera. Neutral insects consist of 2 species and 2 families. On the herbivore insect plastic mulch there are 5 species and 5 families. In predators there is 1 species and 1 family. And neutral insects consist of 2 species and 2 families. Whereas in land without herbivore arthropod mulch consists of 6 species and 5 families, in predator arthropods there are 5 species and 3 families, and in neutral insects 3 species and 3 families. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the abundance and diversity of canopy insect species is most on plant patterns without mulch, while the abundance and diversity of soil insects is mostly on organic mulch cropping patterns.
