- This study aims to find deep meaning about the psychological impact of close birth spacing in early childhood. This research was conducted using a type of qualitative research with a case study approach. This study uses qualitative data in the form of descriptions and visual and audiovisual documentation collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews regarding the psychological impact of birth spacing that is close to the child. This study used the subject of 2 children who had cases of close birth spacing. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data analysis according to Creswell which includes providing raw data in the form of transcripts, field notes and the views of the researchers themselves, storing and organizing data to be analyzed, reading all data, coding, arranging themes and data descriptions and giving meaning arranged themes so that conclusions can be drawn. The results of this study indicate that: 1) children exhibit behavior that tends to be harsh, fussy, irritable, more often acting to seek the attention of their parents, 2) it is found that older siblings will easily feel jealous of their siblings, and like to capture the same objects 3) the presence of younger siblings is considered too time consuming and attention of parents, 4) Birth distance should be in accordance with the advice of experts with a birth distance of at least 24 months to minimize negative emotions and behaviors that arise in children.
