  • Synthesis of silver nanoparticles was carried out using the extract of the wood of the Beriang (Ploiarium alternifolium) as its reducing agent. Through variations in the volume of the Beriang wood extract and temperature, the best volume is 7 mL at λmaks 444.5 nm and A=3.2008 while the best temperature at 70oC with λmaks 438.5 nm and A=3.2546. The results of the XRD analysis provide angular values of 2θ namely 38.20o (111), 44.163o (200), 64.4o (220) dan 77.04 (311) which shows a typical 2θ angle characteristic for silver nanoparticles which complies with the JCPDS standard No. 04-0783 with crystal structure face centered cubic (FCC). The particle size is calculated from the Debye-scherrer equation which is 10.66 nm. The results of the FTIR analysis were carried out on the extract of the Beriang wood and its silver nanoparticles which showed the same functional groups and loss of absorption at C=O aldehyde at wave number 1732.43 cm-1 to C=O carboxylate uptake at 1616.28 cm-1 which showed the oxidation process due to the reduction of silver ions. The antifungal properties of silver nanoparticles were tested using the scatter cup method of the fungus Neofusicoccum parvum and Fussarium diamnii which were isolated from infected mangoes. The best percentage of inhibition was obtained from silver nanoparticles at the best temperature against N.parvum dan F.diaminii fungi of 27% and 33%, respectively.
