  • Channel analysis and the marketing function of oil palm has one marketing channel, namely from the farmer, marketing agency and ended up in palm oil mill. The marketing function of the smallholder oil palm plantation can sort oil palm which is then resold to increase the income of his own independent plantations. The marketing costs issued by marketing institutions include sorting costs, transportation, equipment and management, and loading and unloading. The benefits obtained by each institution vary with marketing costs of Rp300,00/Kg for KUD Kumbang Jaya, Rp170,00/Kg for BUMDES Makmur Jaya, and Rp205,00/Kg for collecting agents. The oil palm marketing system has a marketing price margin at the farm level with prices at the end consumer or factory level of Rp415,00/Kg for plasma, Rp210,00/Kg for self-help (BUMDES) and Rp280,00/Kg for self-help (agent collectors). The marketing efficiency of oil palm is 23,25 percent obtained from smallholders, 15,31 percent obtained from independent smallholders who sell to BUMDES Makmur Jaya and 18,46 percent obtained from independent smallholders who sell to collectors who are all lacking of 50 percent so that it can be said to be efficient. But BUMDES Makmur Jaya has a high level of efficiency which is equal to 15.31 percent, which is very different from other institutions.
