  • The objectives of the study are: (1) Identifying the characteristics and socio-economic conditions of the households of rice consumers in Palembang, (2) analyzing the amount of household rice consumption in the city of Palembang, and (3) Analyzing determining factors Consumption of household rice against rice in Palembang. Location selection is intentionally done. The research location is in Kalidoni subdistrict, Ilir Timur II District, and Ilir Barat District I. The method of study used is a survey method. The sample withdrawal method used is the Multistage method by using the sample count criteria of 90 respondents. The data collected in this study is the primary data and secondary data. The results of the study showed that: (1) The average characteristic of the consumers of rice aged 26-35 years and 36-45 years, dominated by males, with the average number of household members amounting to 2-4 people, mostly as self-employed, With the last level of education of the average SLTP, (2) from the analysis of the average amount of household rice consumption is obtained 5.5 kg per capita per month and 20.9 kg per household per month, and (3) factors determining home rice consumption High income stairs are age, gender, number of household members, and income. Determining factors on moderate income are age, gender, number of household members, and income.
