- This research aimed to find empirical evidence by analyze the effect of variable Current Ratio (CR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) with Profitability as moderating variable on stock return by automotive and components companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample in this study consisted of 12 automotive and components companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from the period 2014 to 2018. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data obtained from the official website Indonesia Stock Exchange (www.idx.co.id). The data is analyzed using moderated regression analysis. The result of this research proving that: Current Ratio (CR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) have significant and positive effect on stock return, but Return on Asset (ROA) as a proxy of profitability ratio have no moderate Current Ratio (CR) and Debt Equity Ratio (DER) with stock return. The implication in this research is that companies in making decisions can better consider Current Ratio and Debt to Equity Ratio. This study also expected to contributes for helping the investor in investing their valuable assets to stock market especially in automotive and components companies. For better result, further research could add more industries, sample, years, and variable.
