Daftar Isi:
- Planting resistant varieties is the most effective way of controlling and recommended as safe for the environment. This research aims to understand and learn about development of leaf blight disease and the type of resitance level of maize varieties on attack of leaf blight disease. Experimental design used was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 (three) treatments and 7 (seven) replications, in order to obtain 21 units of the experiment. Each treatment is based on the differences in varieties. These varieties are varieties Love Sweet, Bonanza and MB-01 Sweet. The variables measured were the severity of disease. The observation made at intervals of two days as much as 10 times. Based on the overall research results the use of several varieties significantly affected the incidence and intensity of leaf blight (E. turcicum). The results of this study showed that the difference in response of resistance varieties Love Sweet, Bonanza and MB-01 Sweet against leaf blight caused by the fungus E. turcicum. The highest severity was found in varieties Bonanza followed by Love Sweet varieties, while the lowest was found in varieties MB-01 Sweet. As for the results of the production of disease attacks have no significant effect on the weight of corn cobs.
