  • Leaf curl virus disease and yellow virus are very important diseases in chili which can reduce the production of chili. Curly and yellow viral diseases can be transmitted by insect vector. This study aims to determine the effect of intercropping on the incidence and intensity of viral diseases of chili and to find out which plants are more suitable to be used as intercropping to reduce virus infection. This study was arranged in a randomized complete block design, consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment was inercropping plant, namely mung bean, soybean, eggplant plants, and tomato plants. The results showed that intercropping plants did not significantly affect the incidence and intensity of viral diseases. The incidence and intensity of leaf yellow was lower than leaf curl disease.
