  • Bagasse contains cellulose and hemicellulose, it can be hydrolize to glucose and used for fermentation that produces bioethanol. Pretreatment is necessary to remove lignin bulkhead between cellulose and hemicellulose. Delignification process use ozone as strong oxidizing agents. Lignin can be decomposed by ozone which will make easier to process cellulose and hemicellulose. But reports of the optimum conditions for the delignification process with ozone are not complete. In this study the process of optimization of bagasse delignification was carried out in the pretreatment of bioethanol production. Bagasse prepared in fine condition then dissolved with distilled water and ozone flowed with a variation of time and pH coinditioning. Then analyzed the percentage of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin using Chesson method and decompose significance test by anova: single factor, Fcount>Ftable. The result show that lignin reduction will be inversely proportional tohe addition of cellulose and hemicellulose. Lignin morphology was observed with SEM and concluded that the optimization process was in the 80th minute and pH 3 conditions. The sample is continued with the acid hydrolysis process with concentration and temperature variation. Then glucose concentraion was analyzed by the DNS test method. The highest glucose concentration was obtained from the hydrolysis of 1% sulfuric acid. At the next time the sample was analyzed with HPLC and obtained a glucose concentraion of 19 g/L, this shows the hydrolysis still can be optimize. Then hydrolysed is used as a nutrient in fermentation media. The fermentation media was analyzed by remaining glucose with DNS test method and the bioethanol produced was analyzed by GC, the highest result of bioethanol concentration obatined was 0,79%.
