- The main problem to fish culture on swamp water is low pH of soil and water. Therefore, liming is needed to increase pH of water's fish ponds. One of an alternative liming materials is cockle shells (Anadara granosa). The objective of this researh is utilization of cockle shells with different preparation. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatments and three replications. The data was analyzed by t-test method . The treatments were calcination by furnace 800 °C for one hours (P1) and calcination by oven 110 °C for 24 hours (P2). The dose of lime was 10,000 kg/ha CaCO3 equivalent. The calcination by furnace (P1) 800 °C was the best treatment for increasing swamp water pH from 4.50 to 7.86 and soil pH from 3.30 to 7.75. Survival rate, feed efficiency, and growth were not significantly different for all treatments.
