  • The chemical composition and physical form of feed consumed by livestock will affect the retention and digestibility of the rumen and reticulum digestion, erratic feed consumption will undergo gradual overhaul in the rumen resulting in delayed work of enzymes in the rumen and retention in the rumen to increasing the performance of enzymes in the rumen can be added to natuzyme®. This study aims to study the effect of adding natuzyme® on fermen mill® concentrate® on pH, dry matter, gas production and concentration of methane in vitro. This research was conducted in August-September 2018 at the Animal Nutrition and Food Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Departement of Animal Husbandry and Industrial Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The data was analyzed using the T-Test statistical model with 2 treatments and 5 replications. Fermen mill® concentrate® 100% (P0) and fermen mill® concentrate® 100% + Natuzyme® 0,1% w/w (P1). The variables observed were ph, dry matter, gas production and concentration of methane. The result of this study indicate that there was no significant difference (P> 0.05) on pH, significant difference (P< 0.05) on dry matter digestibility, no significantly different (P >0.05) on the rate of gas production, and significantly different (P <0.05) on the concentration of methane gas. The highest value of the highest dry matter digestibility found in P0 treatment was 35,72%, the highest value of gas production rate was found in P1 treatment which was 44,4 mL / hour, and the highest methane gas concentration was found at P0 treatment which was 119823,62 ppm.
