  • ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled "The Development of Socio-Economy of the Crafters of the Tanjung Batu District Knock Down in Ogan Ilir Regency in 2011-2016 (Contribution of Subject Materials to the South Sumatra Local Wisdom). The problem raised by the author is how the development of unloaded house crafts after being introduced by Abdul Hamid to the Tanjung Batu community included the process of making, the marketing process, and the salary wages for the artisans themselves. How the development of unloading house crafts is seen in terms of socio-economic aspects of the lives of the craftsmen. The purpose of this study is to explain the early history of assembling house crafts brought by Abdul Hamid (Puyang Usangsunging) to the land of Tanjung Batu to develop until this war includes home models, work processes, and marketing to consumers using internet-based social media, while for the social and economic aspects observed, it covers the lives of artisans in a day-to-day basis where many of these artisans come from the villages of Tanjung Batu Seberang and Tanjung Baru Petai. Almost these craft activities are mostly carried out in these two villages, although for now they cover almost all of the Tanjung Batu Subdistrict, while working on one house they will work on it in mutual cooperation so that the house can be finished quickly. In their economic life the salary they receive applies the Borongan system with an initial down payment. The salary they get is uncertain depending on the customer's order to the owners of capital who use their services. With the use of social media, their income has increased compared to those who previously did not use social media to market their handicrafts, namely houses that are unloaded.
