KEANEKARAGAMAN BERBAGAI JENIS SERANGGA FITOFAG DAN ENTOMOFAG DALAM BUDIDAYA TUMPANGSARI TANAMAN JAGUNG (zea mays L). DAN KEDELAI (glycine maks L.)
Daftar Isi:
- Corn (Zea mays L.) is a C4 plant which is suitable for intercropping with soybean (Glycine max L.) which is classified as C3 plant. Cropping patterns of intercropping of soybean corn in a field are expected to influence the population of fitofag insects and the diversited of entomofag insect species. This research aims to determine the diversity of species of fitofag and entomofag insects as well as the production of corn and soybean grown with intercropping systems. Used direct observation method with experiment in the field. Observations were made every week since the plants were 2 weeks old until harvesting. Fitofag and entomofag insects that come to intercropping of soybean corn are collected using pitfall traps and pan traps. All of fitofag and entomofaginsects who came will taken to the Entomology Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests for identification. Identification is based on morphological characteristics. The results of the research stated that the intercropping of soybean corn was found to be fitofag and entomofag insects. Fitofag insects that are active in the soil is 12 species and fitofag insects that are active in the air is 19 species. Fitofag insects belong to 6 orders and 15 families. There are 18 species of entomofag that are active in the soil. There are 15 species of active entomofags in the air in arthropods, of which 18 species belong to 5 orders and 13 families. The yield of intercropping of soybean corn plants has not been satisfactory than normal potential, the achieved production results have only reached 60%. The suboptimal production has related with the dry season that occurred at the time of the research.
