  • Background: Mosquitoes in Indonesia are one of the vectors that spread disease between humans and other humans. In breeding, mosquitoes lay eggs that will develop into adult mosquitoes in water reservoirs, both in clear water and sedimentary water and in water container both indoors and outdoors, depending on the species of mosquito. This study aims to determine the water reservoirs where mosquitoes breed and the types of mosquito larvae in Pondok Pesantren Subulussalam Palembang. Method: The design of this study was descriptive observational. The sample of this study was all water container and mosquito larvae found in Pondok Pesantren Subulussalam Palembang. Data taken in the form of characteristics and the number of water container, the number and type of larvae were taken using dipid, Gamadotik, and pipette drops. Result: Of the 11 water reservoirs, 3 of water container outside the room were not found larvae and in 8 of water container indoors, 3 of them found larvae. In 3 water containers, 137 mosquito larvae were found from Culex spp and 14 mosquito larvae of Aedes spp. The density of mosquito larvae obtained from the Container Index (CI) is 47.47%. The density of mosquito larvae in this study is high density with a high risk of disease transmission by mosquito vectors. Conclusion: Mosquito larvae were found from the Culex spp and Aedes spp species, and there are 3 reservoirs for Subulussalam Islamic Boarding School which are locations with high risk factors for transmission of diseases by mosquito vectors.
