PENGARUH KECEPATAN PUTARAN PISAU DAN KONDISI BAHAN TERHADAP KINERJA POWER THRESHER MODIFIKASI PADA PROSES PENCACAHAN AMPAS TEBU

- This study aims to determine the effect of knife rotation speed and material conditions on the performance of modified power thresher on sugarcane waste chopping process. This research was conducted from March to May 2019 at the Workshop of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya campus, South Sumatra. The method used in this study used a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two factors: material condition and knife rotation speed with three treatment levels and each treatment combination. This study used three parameters, namely the effective capacity of the machine (kg/hour), uniformity of the chopping results (%) and fuel requirements (liters/hour). The results of this study indicated that the treatment speed of the knife rotation significantly affects the effective capacity of the machine, the uniformity of the chopping results and fuel requirements, the treatment of material conditions significantly affect the effective capacity of the machine and the uniformity of the chopping results and the interaction of the treatment conditions of the material and the speed of the blade rotation significantly affect the uniformity results of chopping. The best treatment was found in the combination of knife rotation speed ±1000 rpm and the condition of the first week (A2B1), namely the effective capacity of a chopper machine of 25.73 kg/hour, the uniformity of chopped size of more than 5 cm (A2B1) of 19.24% and fuel requirements (A3B1) of 1.38 liters/hour.
