  • This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to know the mathematical thinking aspect representation of 8th grade students on number pattern through problem based learning. The subject of this research are 31 students of VIII.7 SMP N 1 Indralaya. The learning process used is adjusted to the stages of problem based learning. Data collecting technics used are written test, interview, and video. The written test are 3 essays questions. Based on the result of this research, most common indicators of mathematical thinking aspect representation that appears is the symbolic representation and the least common indicators that appears is the algebraic representation with the number of students that shows the visual representation, numeric representation, symbolic representation, and algebraic representation indicators are as following : 8 students, 9 students, 12 students, and 7 students.
