PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENCERITAKAN KEMBALI TEKS FABEL SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 1 PALEMBANG

- This study aimed to determine whether there was differences on results between the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model with the conventional model of the ability to retell the seventh grade students of Junior High School Number 1 Palembang. The research method used a quasi-experimental method. The sample in this research consisted of two class namely class VII.7 as an experimental class which amounted to 30 students with treatment of the CIRC learning model and class VII.8 as a control class which amounted to 30 students using conventional models commonly used by teachers. The techniqueto collect the data were using test and data processing technique using t-test calculation computer with SPSS 20 program. The results of the study showed that there were differences in test results between the experimental class and the control class. The average value obtained by the experimental class, in the initial test was 49.77, increasing 28.01 to 78.03 in the final test. The average value of the control class in the initial test 54.33 increased by 16.04 to 70.90 in the final test. The results of the study showed an increase in the experimental class was greater than the control class. This can be seen from the results of the t-test which shows that tcount> ttable = 3.137> 2.002 with df = 58 at a success rate off 95% (α = 0.025). Because tcount is greater than ttable, Ho is rejected. Thus Ha stated that there were differences in results between the CIRC learning model on the ability to retell fable texts and students who were taught using conventional models could be accepted. Thus, the CIRC model has an influence on the ability to retell fable texts of class VII students of Junior High School Number 1 Palembang.
