  • Transportation problems lead to congestion in several sections on the highway in urban areas as a result causing noise impacts especially on schools that are on the edge of the highway so that it can affect the concentration of student learning. School is a place where the learning process takes place, this process will run well if the classroom atmosphere is comfortable. This study used an observational method with a cross sectional approach. Sampling uses cluster random sampling method with a total sample of 124 students consisting of SMAN 3 Palembang, SMAN 1 Palembang, SMA Xaverius1 Palembang, and SMA Methodist 2 Palembang. Data analysis techniques are univariate, bivariate with chi-square statistical test, and multivariate with logistic regression test. Data is then presented in the form of tables, graphs and narratives to interpret data. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between exposure to traffic noise p-value 0,000, psychological factors p-value 0.027 and breakfast habits p-value 0,000 to the concentration of student learning. While the results of the study show there is no relationship between student learning motivation p-value 0.677. The multivariate test results showed that traffic noise exposure affected student learning concentration after being controlled by psychological factors and breakfast habits. It is recommended that this study be expected by schools to reduce their efforts such as planting trees in front of the school, closing doors and windows while studying and installing speed limitation signs and prohibiting honking. Teachers should be able to provide motivation for students in the learning process and support from parents. As well as parents should provide breakfast before leaving for school.
