- The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of blogs in order to meet the information needs of the beauty world of Communication Sciences students from 2015-2016 Sriwijaya University. The theory used is the Social Media Effectiveness Theory put forward by Chris Heuer who assesses the effectiveness of social media through 4C, namely context, communication, collaboration, and connection. The method applied is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis techniques. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to 68 respondents of Communication Studies Students of FISIP Sriwijaya University with a sensus technique. The findings of data analysis in this study obtained the context dimension score of 186 with good category, communication dimension of 185 with good category, collaboration dimension of 190 with good category, and connection dimension of 186 with good category.
