PERBANDINGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH (IMT) SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI SD PALM KIDS DAN SD NEGERI 244 PALEMBANG TAHUN AJARAN 2019/2020

- Body Mass Index (BMI) was an indicator that necessarily to determine weight categories such as classified as very thin, thin, normal fat, and obesity. One of the factors that influence BMI is socio-economic. This study aims to determined differences in BMI between SD Palm Kids and SDN 244 Palembang. This study is an observational analytic study (comparative) with cross sectional design. The time of the study being between September 2019 - October 2019. The study population is all students of SD Palm Kids and SD Negeri 244 Palembang. The sample of this study was 192 child. The sampling technique was proportional stratified random. This study uses primary data, namely body weight and height which were processed by univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that the average of body mass index in SD Palm Kids was 17.54 kg/m2 and in SDN 244 Palembang was 14.83 kg/m2. Based on data analysis, it is known that most of children in both school have a normal BMI with prevalence of overweight and obesity more commonly found in SD Palm Kids (37,3%), whereas prevalence of thinness and severely thinness more commonly found in SD Negeri 244 Palembang (23,5%). The statistical test showed p=0,000 (p value<0.05). Based on study result, there is a significant difference in the Body Mass Index (BMI) SD Palm Kids with SD Negeri 244 Palembang.
