- This research is descriptive that aims to indentify grade VIII student’s mathematical thinking aspect abstraction on number of pattern through CPS. The subjects for this research were student of VIII.6 class of SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya. The learning process adjusted with the CPS phases. The data collection technique used in this research were test and interview. The test is consist of 4 non-routin problems. The result of this research is that after learning through CPS the subjects are showing mathematical thinking aspect abstraction through the appearanced of the indicators and indicator that appear the most is specialization
